Okay here is anothe illo for Ten Paces and Draw.
It was actually a fashion swap, but the costume that I got to draw was so unconventional (you will see when you go to the website) that I couldn’t just draw a pretty girl with a lovely dress.

So it became a kind of sea monster who disguises as a coral to catch cute fishes.

It doesn’t fit in the slideshow of the fashion swap though. Sorry!
But it was fun again, as always.

Painting practice with thicker watercolors only this time (or perhaps they’re called gouache, I’ve always had a hard time try translate “peitevärit” from Finnish to English). I’ve noticed that they make very nice textures on their own if I make washes with them instead of painting thick layers.

Details from a recent personal work I made. I liked these cropped parts better than the actual work, I had a little trouble with composition and ended up with too much empty space.

Dimitri was following a trail of very dark poppies and collecting them in the field, when he suddenly found the source. A sad boy with a flaming hair, crown of horns and odd— shadows swaying around him.

Aiiiiiiiiiiii, I almost cried—- I think I still might. This is so tender and touching, that poor big lizzard looks so sad and Tricia is comforting her scaly dark friend. TTuTT

Guardian godling of the deep waters found herself a real sinking treasure, a golden prince. She’ll fix him up and take back with her to her underwater lair.

I usually paint one picture in a year of these two, but wanted to reverse the roles this time, so Wendy gets to safe her Atlas. :>

I still haven’t gotten myself a decent scanner, but I really should. The originals always look so much better in reality.

Tested the coldpress paper, which I received as a gift from Nahkampffussel quite a while ago. Thank you for that, it was fun to test. <3

Little lady fluff in the picture, Rada made that rose especially for Beine all by herself. *v*
